Ken was born into a construction family. His father was the industrial arts instructor at Northside High School. During the summer months, Ken’s father was employed by Horace Rickey— a commercial building contractor where his brother was a job superintendent. At an early age, Ken was given a saw and hammer to learn the carpentry trade under his father’s tutelage.
Upon graduation from the University of Louisiana, Ken received a job offer from Mr. Harris Resweber, a Lafayette Parish general contractor. Mr. Resweber began teaching Ken the estimating and project management process. Ken had worked for Mr. Resweber during college, as a carpenter on a large addition to Comeaux High School.
Having early hands-on experience has aided Ken in the estimating and project coordination processes. In 1980, Ken purchased Mr. Resweber’s non-union sister company, Master Builders
& Specialists, Inc. Ken has been a business owner, estimator, and project manager, specializing in commercial and industrial buildings for four decades.
Ken has participated in every project MBS has performed since 1980. Ken feels that every Owner deserves to have the head of the company involved with their project. This is why we never take
on more work than we can handle.
